It is never too late to  join us in reading through the Bible.  We believe is important is to develop the habit of reading the Bible on a daily basis, and there is never a good reason to delay.

There are a number of reasons why people find it difficult to read, and this is especially true for the Bible.  The most common reasons for not reading the Bible are related to vision or literacy issues.  I personally (Pastor Randy) find it difficult to read comfortably 15" laptop screens, let alone the small screens of tablets and phones.

I personally use the audio features of YouVersion on my phone or tablet, and I appreciate that Nicky and Pippa Gumbel have recorded their devotionals.  Some of the YouVersion devotionals are computerized text to speech, and you will notice many words incorrectly pronounced.

The Bible readings are also available in audio with some translations that can be optionally downloaded.  Popular translations such as the KJV, NIV, NLT and ESV have audio.  The NIV has three narrators to choose from and the NLT has two narrators to chose from.  To change the narrator, or to change the narrators speed of reading, you can click the speaker button to open the control panel to customize your audio options.

YouVersion allows you to search for screen names such as "David Porter" as well as the unique username (dporteroffice) that the user logs in with.  Searching for dporteroffice narrows your search to a specific individual.

You can find more information from Nicky and Pippa Gumbel's Bible in One Year website.
